Tutorial for DIY Memorial Stones
Create memorial rocks in remembrance of your loved one. These can be placed at the gravesite or perhaps in a memory garden, or anywhere they might bring comfort to you.
Materials:
- Rocks, as smooth as possible, available at garden centers, landscape supply stores, craft stores, or you might even find some suitable ones in your yard
- Acrylic paint marker, you’ll probably want to get one with a fine or extra fine tip, available at Walmart or craft stores
- Spray sealer for outdoor projects, I used Aleene’s Acrylic Matte Spray Sealer
- Pencil (to lightly write in pencil first before using the marker)
Directions:
- Scrub rocks with soap and water, let dry completely for a few hours or preferably overnight.
- Write the words lightly in pencil onto the rock. Add other design elements such as a cross, heart, infinity symbol etc. if desired.
- Then use the paint marker to trace over the letters and design.
- Apply sealer. Spray several light coats, let dry in between. Be sure to do this outside on a piece of cardboard or something similar.
- And your memorial stones are done!
